Founder, consultant and creative director
Hi, I’m Tash.
I’m a strategist, storyteller, speaker and podcast host. I founded Unmuted Stories and created The 100 Stories Project. I help good people get seen, trusted and chosen, and I make marketing stupidly simple along the way.
I’m also a solo mum to Archie, a former police officer and someone who has started again more times than I can count.

What I believe
People buy from people.
Expertise matters. But it’s rarely the thing that makes someone choose you over the next person. People want to know who you are, what you believe, how you think and whether they can trust you. That’s why stories sit at the heart of everything I do.
You don’t need everybody to like you. You need the right people to find you.
- Marketing should be stupidly simple.
- Being seen and being trusted are two different things.
- Stories create connection. Evidence creates trust.
- Sales should feel like an invitation, never chasing or convincing.
- Most people already have more great stories and expertise than they realise.
- Business should support your life, not swallow it.
- You’re allowed to colour outside the lines.
My story
I’ve started again more times than I can count.
And not always because I wanted to.
I joined the NSW Police Force at 19. I loved the job, but after five years and a whole lot of things I probably wasn’t equipped to deal with at that age, PTSD caught up with me.
Walking away was bloody hard.
Policing taught me so much about people. How to ask questions, really listen, read a room and have conversations most people would rather avoid.
But it also taught me something pretty important. No job is worth your health.
After that, I tried a bit of everything.
Travel sales (turns out I was pretty good at it), teaching other people how to sell, learning and development at Bunnings, and even teaching Pilates while going through IVF.
Then Archie came along, and everything changed.
I wanted to build something of my own, so I started a marketing agency. Within months, we’d hit six figures and I was building a team.
It was exciting, chaotic and a massive learning curve.
Then my marriage ended. And with it, the business I’d worked so hard to build.
So I packed up my little boy, moved closer to family and, yep, started again.
These days
What I’m doing now.
These days, I work one-on-one with business owners, helping them make marketing simpler, build trust and give people a reason to choose them.
I’m the Founder and Creative Director of Unmuted Stories, where we bring people’s stories to life through podcasts and content.
And I created The 100 Stories Project, because I genuinely believe everyone has a story worth telling. Sometimes we just need someone to ask the right questions.
I speak, teach, run workshops and facilitate at events. Marketing made simple, building trust, storytelling and my own story of starting again.
And I get to stand in front of rooms full of police officers and share my own story.
Not because I’ve got everything figured out. Far from it.
But because if there’s one person sitting at the back of that room who’s struggling, I want them to know there’s life after trauma. And it can be a bloody good one.
The thing that drives me
Life is for living.
I don’t want to get to 80, look back and wish I’d done more.
I want to build things, try things, travel, meet interesting people, have conversations that matter, make mistakes, change my mind and probably start again a few more times.
Because I’ve learnt that things don’t always go to plan.
And sometimes, that’s where the best parts of life begin.
My writing
Stories I’ve shared on Mamamia.
Writing is how I make sense of the world. I’m not only writing for the people reading today. I’m writing for my son, so that one day he gets to know me in my own words.
A few things about me.
- There’s always music on while I cook dinner, and I’ll dance in the kitchen without thinking about it.
- I never say no to a board game at a café.
- I’ll always hold a hug a little longer than most people.
- I’m fascinated by people’s stories, because I believe everyone has one worth telling.
- Seeing someone finally recognise their own value brings me more joy than any business milestone.
