Cancellation, Refund & Ticket Transfer Policy
1.About this policy
This policy applies to ticket purchases for events operated under the Unmuted Summit name by Tash Miller trading as Unmuted Stories (ABN 43 702 731 632).
This policy applies to individual tickets, group bookings and other ticket categories unless different lawful conditions are expressly disclosed for a particular ticket type.
This policy forms part of the Unmuted Summit Ticket Terms & Conditions.
The applicable Event date, location, ticket categories, prices and inclusions will be specified on the relevant Event checkout page.
Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts or modifies any rights or remedies available under Australian Consumer Law or other applicable legislation.
2.Attendee cancellations and change of mind
Ticket purchases are generally final.
We do not ordinarily provide refunds where a purchaser or attendee:
- Changes their mind.
- Has a personal or work scheduling conflict.
- Can no longer attend due to personal circumstances or illness.
- Makes alternative plans.
- Fails to attend the Event.
If you can no longer attend, you may request a free ticket transfer in accordance with section 3.
The general change-of-mind policy does not affect any refund or other remedy required by law.
3.Free ticket transfers
Tickets may be transferred to another person without an administration fee.
Transfer requests must be received at least 48 hours before the scheduled commencement of the Event.
To request a transfer, email studio@unmutedstories.com.au with:
- The original Purchaser's name.
- The booking reference.
- The email address used at checkout.
- The replacement attendee's full name.
- The replacement attendee's email address and contact number.
Transfers are complete once confirmed by the Organiser.
Requests received within 48 hours of the Event may be considered where operationally practicable but are not guaranteed.
A ticket transfer does not change the ticket category or inclusions unless separately agreed.
4.Group bookings and table transfers
Group bookings may be transferred to another purchaser, or individual attendees may be substituted, subject to the transfer requirements in section 3.
Where only some attendees in a group booking can no longer attend, the Purchaser may nominate replacement attendees.
Unused places in a group booking do not ordinarily qualify for partial refunds for change of mind.
Any rights or remedies required by Australian Consumer Law remain unaffected.
5.Cancellation by Unmuted Stories
If Unmuted Stories cancels an Event and the contracted Event is not delivered, ticket holders will receive a refund of the ticket price paid, including mandatory booking fees charged as part of the purchase.
We will notify affected ticket holders as soon as reasonably practicable.
We will provide information about the cancellation, refund process and any optional alternative arrangements.
Ticket holders will not be required to accept credit or a replacement event instead of a refund where a refund is required by law or promised under this policy.
Nothing in this section limits any additional rights or remedies available under applicable law.
6.Event postponement
If an Event is postponed, we will notify ticket holders as soon as reasonably practicable.
Ticket holders will be offered the following options:
Keep your ticket for the rescheduled Event at no additional charge for the equivalent ticket category.
If you cannot attend the rescheduled date, you may request a refund of the ticket price paid, including mandatory booking fees charged as part of the purchase.
We will provide a reasonable process for requesting refunds following a postponement.
If no replacement date is announced within a reasonable period, ticket holders may contact us to request a refund.
Nothing in this section requires a ticket holder to accept a replacement date where they are entitled to a refund or other remedy under applicable law.
7.Changes to speakers, program or venue
Reasonable changes may be made to the Event's speakers, running order, session times, activities or other operational arrangements.
Minor changes do not automatically entitle ticket holders to refunds.
If a significant change materially alters the nature or substance of the advertised Event, affected ticket holders may be entitled to a refund or other remedy under applicable law.
If a venue change materially affects the Event or the services promised to ticket holders, any refund entitlement will be assessed in accordance with applicable law.
We will take reasonable steps to communicate material changes promptly.
8.Circumstances outside our control
Severe weather, natural disasters, government restrictions, venue emergencies, major disruptions or other circumstances outside our reasonable control may affect an Event.
If these circumstances result in cancellation or postponement, we will communicate the available arrangements to ticket holders.
Refunds and other remedies will be provided in accordance with the express commitments in this policy and applicable law.
Nothing in this section limits statutory consumer rights.
9.Travel and accommodation
Unless expressly included in a ticket package, travel, accommodation, parking and personal arrangements are the responsibility of attendees.
We recommend considering flexible travel and accommodation arrangements when booking.
Any entitlement to compensation for additional losses arising from an Event cancellation or other failure will be determined under applicable law and the circumstances.
10.How to request a refund
To request a refund, email studio@unmutedstories.com.au.
Please include:
- Your full name.
- Your booking reference.
- The email address used for the purchase.
- The reason for your refund request.
- Any relevant supporting information.
We will acknowledge and assess requests within a reasonable timeframe.
We may request additional information reasonably necessary to process the request.
11.Refund processing
Where a refund is payable under this policy or required by law, we will confirm the amount and processing arrangements.
Refunds will generally be issued to the original payment method where available.
We aim to initiate approved refunds within 14 business days after eligibility has been confirmed.
Financial institutions and payment providers may require additional time for funds to become available.
The treatment of optional third-party charges will be assessed in accordance with applicable law.
12.Australian Consumer Law
Our services come with rights and guarantees that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law.
Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts or modifies those rights or guarantees.
Where a customer is legally entitled to a refund, compensation or another remedy, that entitlement takes priority over any general change-of-mind restriction.
13.Policy updates
We may update this policy for future Events or ticket sales.
The version applicable to a booking is the version accepted at the time of purchase, subject to applicable law and any subsequent agreement between the parties.
Material changes will not be imposed retrospectively on existing purchases without a lawful basis.
